BOCA RATON — Florida Atlantic's offensive line gave up its first sack of the season last Saturday in its 37-3 loss to Minnesota.
However, even after allowing the Gophers to sack quarterback Rusty Smith in the fourth quarter, the Owls are still tied for No. 5 in the nation with fewest sacks allowed. It was the first sack in 17 quarters for the Owls dating back to the New Orleans Bowl.
FAU allowed just 15 sacks last season, finishing No. 15 in the nation in that category.
