BOCA RATON FAU coach Howard Schnellenberger's praise for the Owls' performance in Saturday's 40-29 victory over Sun Belt leader Louisiana-Lafayette grew more resounding after having a day to watch the game tape.

"This was our most efficient offensive game and our most efficient defensive game, maybe ever," Schnellenberger said.

The Owls' 523 yards of total offense, the second consecutive week they've eclipsed the 500-yard mark, was the second-best total in program history. Meanwhile, the first-team defense contained the nation's No. 3 rushing attack until the game was out of reach.
